About us

A group of friends, a common life path, characterised by great enthusiasm and an extraordinary attachment to our land. It was October 1986 when a Cooperative of young people was set up in a tiny village south of Siena.

It was not a real economic project, but rather a cultural idea, the desire to demonstrate to ourselves and to the world that a new form of tourism was being born, tourism based on respect for the environment and for the cultural and anthropological heritage of our territory, the legacy of the social and economic history of "Tuscany Minor".

We began to operate concretely in the early months of 1987 in a 14 m2 office, producing the first printed catalogue Sogno Toscano (Tuscan Dream) with just 12 things, including renovated farms and small houses in the historic centre.

All this happened in Celle sul Rigo, a tiny and delightful medieval village, the last garrison of Tuscany in the south of the province of Siena on the border with Lazio and Umbria, 700 inhabitants in all and a great ability to make the best pici in the world. Since then, many things have changed.

Our offer has become more and more articulated prestigious properties, independent villas with private swimming pool, splendid farmhouses with SPA, farm holidays, charming hotels, splendid relais, period residences in Italian cities of art and an extraordinary selection of the best Italian wellness centres, but we have not forgotten small farm holidays and delightful B&Bs that have allowed us to grow in these 38 years.

Each proposal, residence, villa, resort, charming hotel is selected directly by us, with the utmost care and attention, assessing not only the quality features and every detail, but not least the quality of the welcome and the availability of the owners, many of whom have now become dear friends.

Our team continues to be made up of motivated and professional women, whose sensitivity and enthusiasm have always characterised the history of Verdidea.
